Pregnancy Helps Fight Breast and Ovarian Cancer
Pregnancy is said to be very beneficial for a woman’s body as it protects her body against both Breast and Ovarian Cancer.
According to researches, cancer-the world’s most fatal diseases that claims many a woman’s life, is put under arrest with a woman’s pregnancy. The more the number of pregnancies, the lesser the chance you stand against suffering from cancer.
Studies state that the more a woman ovulates the greater she stands at a risk of cancer. However, when a woman gets pregnant, she does not ovulate 9 times, during the nine-month course of her pregnancy. Therefore, her body is exposed to less ovulation.
Also, pregnancy transfers foetal cells into the mother’s body through a process called ‘foetal microchimerism’ that helps fight against any cancer cell thus avoiding breast cancer.
Breast-feeding further causes changes in the breast cells of a woman thus helping them fight cancer. According to another study breastfeeding delays the onset of ovulation, again reducing a woman’s exposure to ovulation.
Studies also state that if the duration of breast feed is increased over a period of time, the chance of contracting cancer is also greatly reduced.
Getting pregnant before 30 years also helps fight against cancer. Pregnancy however, after 30 increases risk of cancer.
Therefore, one needs to make a wise choice about getting pregnant. Pregnancy is a beautiful phase for a woman and though with an initial quirks of morning sickness and uneasiness, it greatly enhances a woman’s psychological health and confidence levels.
