Can You Have Your Period And Still Be Pregnant?
Once you are pregnant it is not possible for you to get menstrual periods. It happens for the simple reason that as soon as you become pregnant your body starts producing Human Chronic Gonadrotropin (hCG) hormone. The production of this hormone interrupts the menstrual cycle and the normal cycle.
Few women can face some spotting or bleeding that may be due to the implantation of the fetus. This bleeding of implantation takes place nearly at the same time when your period falls.
So it must not be judged as that of periods. This spotting or bleeding takes place because the fertilized egg penetrates the blood rich lining of the uterus in order to implant the fetus. This process begins nearly 6 days after the fertilization.
Reason Of Bleeding Or Spotting During The Pregnancy:
Normally, once your pregnancy is established you do not have any periods. In case you are facing some bleeding or spotting around your pregnancy date. Then it is not your period. This spotting happens due to the implantation of the fetus deep into your blood rich uterine. This bleeding or spotting is very mild and will be there for a day or two.
In case you have a very heavy flow of blood then it can be a cause of concern. As it can be a indication of Ectopic pregnancy. Even mild spotting at regular intervals can be a cause of concern. As it is only the first sign of miscarriage. So, if you have sharp pain in your lower abdomen along with spotting contact your doctor immediately.
There are many conditions which are possible like a simple miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy or something like tubal pregnancy. So, in such cases it is advisable to contact your doctor and get the scan done to know the actual cause and it treated on time.
