Herbs for Infertility Treatment

Many women wonder if herbal remedies can help infertility. Infertility herbs may work well for women who suffer hormonal imbalances or irregular periods. These nourish the uterus and restorenormal hormone levels. Some common herbal remedies for infertility are:

Red Clover

  • This is high in isoflavones, which are estrogen-like compounds. Take a cup of dried blossoms and put them in a quart jar of boiled water.
  • Leave the jar of water and herbs to steep for a night.
  • Strain out the herbs. You can drink up to four cups of this tea a day.

Stinging Nettle

Red Raspberry

  • This is a well-known infertility herb. Consuming several cups of this tea can help tone your uterus.
  • A tea is usually made from a combination of nettles, red raspberry leaf and red clover.
  • A little bit of peppermint can be added for extra flavoring.

Dong Quai

  • This traditional Chinese herb helps balance estrogen levels and improves an embryo’s chances at implantation.


  • Vitex, also called chaste berry, helps in ovulation and in the regulation of a normal menstruation cycle.

Black Cohosh

  • The Native Americans have used this herb for thousands of years.
  • This herb contains phytoestrogens, which are plant-based chemicals.  It acts like estrogen for many people.
  • This herb helps balance hormonal levels in the body.
  • This may also be used to prevent miscarriages.
