  • Intrauterine insemination
  • Intracervical insemination
  • Intratubal insemination

The most common and easy methods of treating artificial insemination are intrauterine and intracervical.  Theintratubal method is done rarely and has a low success rate.

Steps for Artificial Insemination Process

  • The doctor may or may not advise a woman to take fertility medication, which stimulates the production and maturation of eggs.
  • Just before the commencement of the menstrual cycle, the fertility medication would need to be taken.
  • Using an ultrasound and body basal temperature, the woman’s menstruation cycle is considered.
  • The sperm of a male partner is obtained then washed and concentrated. This is done so that the mucus gets removed which increases the possibility of fertilization.
  • The sperm is inserted into the woman’s womb at the beginning of ovulation. This method is painless. If the egg is fertilized, then pregnancy can be detected within 2 weeks.

There is a high success rate of the artificial insemination process. However, if the artificial insemination process fails, there are other procedures in order to treat infertility. The success rate of the artificial insemination process depends upon your lifestyle and diet. So eat a well-balanced and healthy diet. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and drugs during and after the process of artificial insemination.
