Earliest Pregnancy Signs

Some of the earliest pregnancy signs are breast tenderness, raised oral temperature, morning sickness and missed periods. In order to know whether you are pregnant or not, go to the doctor or clinic and get a urine test done. During pregnancy, there are many signs and symptoms shown by a pregnant woman. This article focuses on the earliest signs of pregnancy.

Earliest Signs of Pregnancy

Morning Sickness:

During pregnancy, vomiting, dizziness, and nausea can be experienced by a pregnant woman. During the few days after conception these symptoms are noticeable. You may experience morning sickness when you wake up. Such signs are termed as morning sickness because it occurs in the morning. Most often a pregnant woman experiences morning sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Breast Tenderness:

The body prepares itself for the successive stages of childbirth and pregnancy development once the conception occurs. During this time certain hormones in the body increase. This results in various changes in the breasts of a pregnant woman. Breasts become tender and swell. The color of the nipples becomes dark and erect. Sometimes they are painful to touch.

Missed Periods:

A missed period is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy. The ovum present in the fallopian tube gets fertilized by the sperm and forms a zygote. The zygote gets itself located in the uterus lining. The body focuses on the nourishment, growth, and development of the zygote. There is no menstruation if there is no uterine lining, shedding of the ovum, and blood vessels.

Rise in Oral Temperature:

The temperature of a woman‘s mouth is almost equal to the basal body temperature when a woman is not pregnant. The oral temperature rises by few degrees during ovulation. Until the next menstruation, it remains at the same point. There is no menstruation when fertilization occurs, and there is no decrease in the oral temperature as well. Rise in oral temperature is known as an early sign of pregnancy when it decreases even after the expected date for menstruation or more than twenty days.

Food Cravings:

The body of a pregnant woman supports the zygote as well as nourishing itself after conception. There is a rapid change in the structure of the body. The brain signals a woman to eat specific foods at times. This is the reason why a pregnant woman craves some particular food at times. During this time a woman experiences changes in her likes/dislikes. However, these food cravings differ from one woman to another.

Apart from all these mentioned earliest signs of pregnancy, there are some more symptoms, which indicate pregnancy. They are weight gain, mood swings, frequent headaches, and increased sense of smell. However, you must not rely on these signs alone to consider yourself pregnant. You should opt for a pregnancy test at home in order to check whether you are pregnant or not.
