Teen Pregnancy Signs

Teen pregnancy is the most difficult thing a girl experiences. It interrupts schooling and other life plans too. It creates an emotional crisis for the girl. The stress of how to reveal the pregnancy to parents or the father of the child is a great task and getting help can seem an impossible task.

Pregnancy symptoms for teens are no different than the pregnancy symptoms for adults. The following symptoms and signs may help the teenage girl to determine whether she is pregnant or not. This can be confirmed by taking a pregnancy test. A pregnancy test is the most common way to confirm a pregnancy before seeking a medical diagnosis. Be aware that stress can sometimes create signs of pregnancy that may include a delay in menstrual periods, a change in appetite and fatigue. Consult a doctor and get officially diagnosed.

  • Vomiting or nausea.
  • Fatigue.
  • Missed period.
  • Tenderness and fullness in breasts.
  • Change in appetite.
  • Frequent urination.

Later Signs of Pregnancy in Teens:

The signs and symptoms become harder and more pronounced for teenagers to miss. Some of the symptoms include:

  • Weight gain or loss.
  • Enlargement of abdomen.
  • Back Pain or headaches.
  • Food cravings.
  • Feeling fetal movement.

This will be a difficult time in a teen girl’s life, but finding support and encouragement will make a world of difference. Ask a doctor (if friends and family can not or will not help) for resources to help during this time and making preparations for the new arrival.
