Hiccups are the cause for concern for most of the women. Hiccups are quiet common even before and after the pregnancy period. The common known cause hiccup to appear is considered as to unusual breathing conditions, diabetes, pulling of neck, eating the food in a hurry, spicy food etc.
Causes Of Hiccups In Utero:
The causes of hiccups when the baby is still in the womb includes:
- Hiccups are necessary as they help in the strengthening of the diaphragm muscles and help in breathing the baby easily.
- Hiccups are not only felt by the mother but is also interpreted by the Doppler just like the heart beat.
- The hiccups inside the mother womb begins in the first trimester only but the mother can not even feel the same until the second trimester. It is only after second trimester that mother starts feeling them.
Causes Of hiccups After the Birth Of The Baby:
If your baby had hiccups when he was in your womb then there more chances that it will have them even after the birth. These hiccups can begins just after the birth. Even if your baby did not had it inside your womb there are chances of it having it after the birth.
The known cause for these hiccups is considered to the relaxing of the diaphragm so that baby can take quick short breath. The duration of these hiccups is not very long. They go away within few minutes but in case they continue you can feed your baby to stop them. The swallowing and sucking can stop the hiccups.
