Ruptured Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts can be found occasionally in a menstruating woman. These cysts can be easily observed via an ultrasound scan.  If an ovarian cyst is not found early on, it runs the risk of rupture.

A cyst that ruptures is extremely painful and can also result into serious medical issues.

Ruptured cysts can even result into some life-threatening conditions like hemorrhage or infection. So, in case you feel that you are suffering from a cyst, contact your doctor immediately and get it treated before it ruptures.

Symptoms Of Ruptured Ovarian Cysts:

The symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts include:

  • Excessive pain in the pelvic region
  • Daily activities cannot be performed properly due to the presence of these cysts. Activities like, bending, lifting, reaching all become difficult due to intense pain.
  • Irregular menstrual cycle.
  • Pain during menstruation will be noticed, which will increase at the onset of menstrual and will continue even after it is over.
  • The duration of the menstrual cycle can be either long or short. Similarly, the flow of blood in the cycle will also vary. It can be either in spots or there might be sudden heavy flow.
  • Some women can even have a total absence of menstrual cycle due to the presence of ovarian cysts.
  • if a cyst ruptures, the woman may notice piercing pain or tenderness in the pelvic region.
  • This condition can result in hemorrhage, which will ultimately cause intense pain and bloating.
  • A situation like anemia can take place due to excessive bleeding
  • nausea, fever or vomiting in some women
